Worship with Holy Communion
Our church is decorated today with the quilts that are created by our quilters. The love, care and prayers in making each of these quilts will be cherished by any who wraps themselves in them. God's love and peace to all in need.
This spring we expanded to include lap quilts for Johnston Memorial Cancer Center and Mended Women Lifestyle Recovery. The latter is the local focus for the Virginia Synod women's convention (June 11-13) here at St. John. Money raised from the sale of these quilts goes toward restricted cash cards for Pastor's discretionary fund, shipping costs for the quilts both inside the US and overseas, as well as our internal use to support our members and our work. Current prices: $50 for 60"x 80" quilt, $25 for baby quilts and lap quilts. Donations are also welcome.
